Your First No-Gi BJJ Class
Can I start No-Gi without Gi experience?
Yes. Our No-Gi classes welcome beginners as well as experienced students. Let the coach know it is your first class so you can follow the drills at a comfortable pace.
What should I wear?
No-Gi training does not use the traditional Gi. Close-fitting training clothes that allow you to move are a practical starting point; ask our team about suitable trial attire before you visit if you are unsure.
What will I learn first?
Expect to work on movement, position and control before worrying about speed or submissions. Listen to your partner, ask questions and tap early when a position is uncomfortable. For a broader introduction, read our BJJ beginner guide.
